ABOUT C&V DEFENCE

C&V Defence is a fast-growing Brussels-based SME specialising exclusively in EU and NATO defence industrial affairs. Our team provides strategic support to companies developing responsible, sustainable innovation projects and strategies for the EU and NATO defence markets. Our work also extends to a range of European R&D projects, including a noteworthy involvement in the European Defence Fund (EDF), where we have become the most represented Belgian SME.

With this in mind, we are recruiting a full-time employee to undergo the role of “Project Officer”.

The Project Officer will oversee a portfolio of EU/NATO defence projects, support the business development of the C&V and its clients, and ensure the successful delivery of complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management of EU/NATO Defence Projects.
  • Drafting tender and grant proposals, including business and market perspectives.
  • Manage the portfolio of international clients, providing operational and strategic support.
  • Contribute to the prospective actions of the company, identifying new opportunities.
  • Plan and coordinate high-level events and workshops with institutional and industry stakeholders.
  • Ensure internal reporting is aligned with C&V Defence’s operational methodologies.
  • Report directly to the Deputy Director of Operations and oversee junior staff when applicable.
  • Liaising with Project Managers and Deputy Director of Operations.

 

EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Master´s degree in Business, Law or similar.
  • Strong understanding of the EU institutions and decision-making process.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Background knowledge and/or experience in the Defence sector.
  • Good knowledge of the defence industry ecosystem and dynamics.
  • Good knowledge of the standard MS package, mainly MS Word, Excel and PPT.
  • Excellent level of English (C1) as mandatory and knowing another EU languages is a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

 

SKILLS DESIRED

  • Project Management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2…).
  • Capacity to work autonomously.
  • Knowledge about EU project life-cycle.
  • Experience in working implementing complex technical projects.
  • Experience in EDF, Horizon or other EU funding programmes.
  • Result-oriented, being able to identify priorities.
  • Knowledge of the Defence Sector.
  • Expertise in Defence capabilities (Operational Domains, Strategic and Support Elements…).

 

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • EU nationality
  • Availability to travel and to work abroad
